Xfriend, a desktop and enterprise search engine launched in Version 2, features hitmarkx, with which search results can be stored, processed, and enriched with additional information such as advertising or sponsored links. The company's Xdot GmbH subsidiary has developed this software solution for internet, desktop, and enterprise search engine applications and registered it for Patents in Europe and the United Stares.

With hitmarkx it is possible when searching to use an icon to transfer any number of hits from the results pages, such as data files, news, links, and emails to the hitmarkx container. In other words, a Person can first collect and save interesting hits from a random number of searches before taking a closer look at their content.

A person can process the contents of the hitmarkx container, send it by email, save it, or delete it partially or completely at any time. There is no limit to the number of hits a person can add: a preview can be generated for every item.

Convotis AG was founded in 1999 under the name Deutsche Eccplus AG as a software and service company for the energy market. With the relaunch as Convotis AG, the range of customers was extended to other markets, such as finance and industry.

Xdot GmbH, founded in 2000, is a 100 percent subsidiariy of Convotis AG. In three German locations, more than 40 employees work in the sectors research, development, product management, and customer service. More than 30,000 international Users in more than 800 organirations use software solutions for enterprise search, business intelligence, customer relationship management, and groupware.
